OZZY OSBOURNE Relapsed On Drugs And Alcohol For A Year & A Half But Says He's Clean Now

Posted by on April 16, 2013 at 1:27 pm

Over the last few days, the rumor mill was abuzz that longtime heavy metal power couple, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne were splitting. It started in the British tabloids, and TMZ has since picked up the story, which is when the family decided to address the issue.

The divorce story stated that Ozzy and Sharon were living separately, with her taking residence in a hotel and Ozzy renting a mansion.

Jack Osbourne was the first to comment calling the story "bullshit" but then Ozzy checked in last night with a shocking reveal:

For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.

Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I’m just trying to be a better person.

I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period… and my fans.

God Bless,

Ozzy

It doesn't take a genius to calculate that the last year and a half is exactly the amount of time Ozzy has spent in the recording studio with his band Black Sabbath working on their reunion album. It's very encouraging to hear that Ozzy is 44 days sober, and this can't be easy for the couple, but I just don't imagine that after all these years of marriage and the insane shit Ozzy put Sharon through, like that time he almost killed her, that they can't make things work. I'm sure this has just been an incredibly stressful time for both parties, and the stress is just picking up steam as Black Sabbath readies to release their new album and head out on tour.
