BLACK SABBATH Has A Tentative Plan For One More Live Appearance

The Ozzy Osbourne farewell show could be massive.

Black Sabbath Ward

Black Sabbath ended with only three-fourths of its classic lineup on stage – that being vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, and bassist Geezer Butler. Drummer Bill Ward quit Black Sabbath in 2012 due to contract disputes and sadly didn't get to perform on the final album 13, or make any appearances during the band's final tour.

There's been loose talks of one final actual Black Sabbath show featuring the original lineup lately and it seems like it might actually happen? Osbourne is on board, Iommi is down for it, Butler expressed his own approval, and even Ward himself said he'd be into the idea. But how might the show actually happen? According to Butler in an interview with Lifeminute, Osbourne wants the final Black Sabbath performance to happen at his hypothetical farewell show.

"I very much [there would ever be a full-on reunion]. Maybe a one-off show. Ozzy was talking to me about when he does his farewell concert – which he still wants to do, he's dying to still get out there and play – and he suggested at his very final concert, for the four of us to get up onstage and maybe do three or four songs together. And that would be it, finished. But definitely no more tours. It would be just a one-off thing."

Again, the Osbourne shows are purely hypothetical at the moment. The only things we've heard about them is that is from Sharon Osbourne earlier this year, who said they could take place over the course of two nights at Aston Villa's stadium Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham. Maybe the move here is to split the two nights into two separate acts – one night all Ozzy Osbourne, another all Black Sabbath?
