Gene Simmons Calls Donald Trump The "Tourette's President", Says "It's Too Early To Judge" His Presidency

Gene Simmons sure has a confusing way of endorsing somebody.

Gene Simmons sure has a confusing way of endorsing somebody.

Gene Simmons thinks "it's too early" to judge Donald Trump's presidency. Simmons, of course, considers Trump a friend, as he was a contestant on a season of Trump's reality show, The Apprentice. Simmons seems to be taking a stance uncommon to that of other rock musicians.  Among the names that have spoken up against Trump are  Kerry KingCorey TaylorWes BorlandRandy BlytheBody Count's Ice-T, Metallica's Kirk Hammett and Lars Ulrich (but not James Hetfield), Axl Rose, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Tool's Maynard James Kennan.

While a guest on Canadian talk show host George Stroumboulopoulos's The Strombo Show, Simmons was asked about his opinions on Trump, and here is the ringing endorsement Simmons gave of Trump.:

"Well, it's too early. You know, when you were a little baby and you kept falling on your face, I'm not gonna judge you then."

Trump is a little baby?

"Do I think he said a lot of stupid things? Oh, yeah," he continued.

Such a ringing endorsement of our President.

"But I know the man, by the way — we hung and all that stuff. What you see is what you get. He says stupid things, and so do you, and so [do] I. I'm not validating it, but… There's not a human being that walks on the face of the planet that privately hasn't made racist or anti-Semitic or anti-women jokes, or anti-Irish jokes. Privately, everybody does it. He is a Tourette's president who will say whatever he wants, and he doesn't give a fuck if you approve of him, and he's doing the job for one dollar. I like that."

To follow up saying "what you see is what you get" with "he says stupid things" really puts it in perspective. And then he calls Trump a "Tourette's president" – again, what a ringing endorsement.

"At the end of the day, politics intrinsically is about two things: one, keep us safe, and two, give me an opportunity to feed my family," he said. "And the rest is, 'Eh.' I think if you go across everywhere else, anywhere you go in the world, those are the two items people are concerned with most."

I think you can safely assume my position on Trump, but it's mind blowing to me that this is the best type of endorsement Simmons has is "wait it out" oh and "he has tourette's."
