When Freddy Lim isn't being Chthonic's frontman, he's acting as a legislator in the fifth district of Taipei as a part of the New Power Party. Lim was elected to the position back in January, and as part of his legislative duties, Lim traveled to Dharamsala, India, to meet with the Dalai Lama to discuss Lim’s Taiwan Parliamentary Group For Tibet.
Here's what Lim had to say about the meeting.
“The people of Taiwan have always been concerned with human rights violations in Tibet. However, the government has kept quiet about abuses.
“As the civil society and our younger generation gain more influence, it is time for Taiwan to strengthen its participation for human rights on the world stage and building trust and friendship with the people of Tibet is our way to begin.”
You can check out the news reel of the meeting below, and also notice the header image. To the best of my knowledge, that isn't a photoshop of Lim giving the Dalai Lama a Chthonic CD. The band posted it on their Facebook!
