Cryptodira has to be the most unique band featured among all the hardcore acts we’ve shared via this column. “Medusa Misgendered” is a prime example of the intense and superb experimental hardcore the band is capable of. While the track delivers times of utter brutality, combining a relentless barrage of drumming and guitar shredding, the track also shifts into an elegant aura. The song rips away in a delicious hardcore melody, while also droning with a radiant ethereal presence.

It’s an experience better heard than read, so please check out the song below. You can preorder The Devil’s Despair here, and follow Cryptodira via Facebook. Thanks for tuning into The Core Breakdown, and let us know your thoughts on the song in the comments.
