Rock on the Range is a huge huge fest that happens every year in Columbus, OH at Crew Stadium and this year it's going down May 16, 17 and 18. Seriously, it's massive. Here's a view from the stage:

ROTRFans (1)

Pretty massive! The Crew Stadium is listed as being able to seat 20,000 people, that's not counting the people who are standing in the pit, where a football field would typically be.

The organizers have put together one hell of a bill, and here's the full lineup of artists:

That's A LOT of bands! Let's be pragmatic for a second, a lot of these bands are not from anywhere near Columbus, OH. With the exception of Guns N Roses and maybe Avenged Sevenfold, I can't imagine many of these bands have the type of budget to be able to fly into Columbus, play their show and then call it a day and fly home. I'm assuming more of these bands will tour on their way to Columbus. If that's the case, we have plenty of opportunities for amazing tours.

For example, ThePRP claims they were told Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus would be touring this spring. That makes perfect sense. Exodus is finishing up a new album, as is Slayer… they share a member in Gary Holt and of course, Suicidal fits right in with them.

Who would Mastodon be touring with? Gojira, perhaps? Wouldn't that be a colossal tour? Perhaps it's going to be even MORE colossal with Avenged Sevenfold being on top of those bands. This is pure speculation on my part, but that's why it's so fun.
