A few weeks back we posted about how that one-ton statue of Baphomet needed a new home after it wasn't needed in Oklahoma anymore. It didn't seem like it had anywhere to go, so we figured it was going to hang out where it was for the time being and then things would get sorted later on. Except now, without any apparent warning, the statue was unveiled in Detroit according to Reuters:
The Satanic Temple unveiled the one-ton statue at an industrial building near the Detroit River just before 11:30 p.m. local time as supporters cheered, "Hail Satan." Some of the hundreds in attendance rushed to pose for photos.
The statue of a winged Baphomet with a human body and a goat's head resembled a design the group previously released. Statues of a boy and a girl stood in poses of adoration on either side.
Naturally the statue was protested, but I guess religious equality wins this round. You can't represent one religion in public without the rest of 'em!
