The inaugural Metal Injection festival is kicking off this September and I've got six good reasons why you should go.
I'll Be There
This is your chance to tell me how you feel about Metal Injection's news coverage. We can get beers (or beer – they're like, $50 at shows). I will allow one mean comment per person. Any more than one and I'm writing another article about a band you hate. Five mean comments and it's all Mötley Crüe coverage from here on out. Ten and I'm tattooing "Ghost is metal" on you while you're sleeping and then loading your phone up with Sleep Token songs.
MetalSucks Will Also Be There
What I said about myself, except I'm sure everyone has stronger feelings about those guys. Just try not to punch 'em too many times, alright? We need them to stay alive and out of the hospital.
Corey Taylor Would Want You To Go
We didn't ask Corey if he wants you to go, but deep down we know he'd want you to. We've only covered him a thousand times over the years. It's the best way he can repay us. He might even be there! I mean, he probably won't, but he hasn't given a hard no either.
We'll Release The Third Necrophagist Album
You don't know what we're capable of. We might, and do you really wanna be the reason nobody hears it? Exactly. Future festivals may also include Wintersun's Time II and a deluxe reissue of Weakling's Dead As Dreams, as well as headlining slots by Darkthrone and Ulver only doing their black metal stuff.
A Better Limp Bizkit
That's right, everyone. Much like a Kickstarter, we've got a stretch goal for this festival. If we sell enough tickets, we'll make Fred Durst quit Limp Bizkit and have them start an even cooler, more jazzy nü-metal band with a different vocalist.
The Music, I Guess
Outside all the other stuff I mentioned, the music is pretty great too. Where else are you gonna catch new and upcoming bands like Upon Stone, mosh-bringers like Xibalba, and old schol heavy metal kings Spirit Adrift opening for legends like Fear Factory playing a Demanufacture and Obsolete set, Machine Head, and Testatment all in one night?
