Necrophagist

Few bands generated as much buzz as Necrophagist did in the early 2000’s. Guitar wizard and growling aficionado, Muhammed Suiçmez’s technical death metal project [he recorded their debut album all by his lonesome] become a full-fledged band on Necrophagist’s 2004 shredfest, Epitaph. From the opening notes of “Stabwound,” to the trance inducing harmonics of “Seven,” Necrophagist’s second album seemed to have captured the attention of the entire metal underground. Too bad it’s been a full decade since the band has released any new music. I think Necrophagist headlined something like five Summer Slaughter tours in support of Epitaph? It’s insane. What Muhammed is up to these days is anyone’s guess. Hopefully we get some new Necrophagist material before we suffer from the outset of putrefaction ourselves.
