Before He Was GAME OF THRONES' Tyrion Lannister, Peter Dinklage Fronted A Punk Band
Game of Thrones is, without question, the most metal show on television right now. Besides all the Mastodon cameos, there are plenty of people on the show who enjoy some metal, from The Mountain to The Night King to the show runners themselves. Now it's been revealed that Peter Dinklage, the actor who plays Tyrion Lanister dipped his toes into rock music as well earlier in his life, as he was a member of a punk band.
Dinklage revealed as much in a 2013 interview with Playboy:
“I have a pretty big scar that runs from my neck to my eyebrow. I was in a band called Whizzy for many years in New York. We were this punk-funk-rap band. We played a show at CBGB, and I was jumping around onstage and got accidentally kneed in the temple. I was like Sid Vicious, just bleeding all over the stage. Blood was going everywhere. I just grabbed a dirty bar napkin and dabbed my head and went on with the show. We didn’t care much at the time about personal safety. We were smoking and drinking during our shows, and one time my bass player fell off the back of his amp because he passed out. It was one of those bands.”
There is even proof. Former Whizzy drummer Jimmy Angelina released these old photos of the band playing around New York City:

Peter Dinklage used to be in a punk/rock band in the 90's called "Whizzy", there's no footage of them online and that makes me so sad pic.twitter.com/ToBmgMj8uh

There doesn't seem to be any video footage available, but if anybody happens to be holding on to an old bootleg, let us know.
