Holy shit, that ending! Blue fire?! Or was it an ice-breathing dragon?! I mean, the last few seasons, I knew the wall was going to come down, but what a way to go!

Amongst all the chaos, you may have been remissed to notice there was a shot of the white walkers, and very clearly, up front, were Brent Hinds and Bill Kelliher. Earlier this year, Hinds teased he would be back on the show, but he didn't mention he would be in the climactic finale to the season. Take a look. Bill and Brent are at the far left:

Mastodon cameos have book-ended season seven, as drummer Brann Dailor was briefly seen at the beginning of the season in a cameo.

So, what the fuck is going to happen in the final season? I can't wait to go along for the ride.

The creators of the show have been outed as big metalheads by Mastodon in a previous interview, and fans of the band, which is how they got the invite. They actually went into detail on exactly how it happened. The show even released a mixtape of metal tunes a few years ago. Just recently, the character of the Night King released chilling Spotify playlist.
