Sometimes you just gotta kick it a little different – too brutal, too much of the time literally turns you into a pussy. Now, before you get your snapbacks, v-necks, and plugs, tunnels, and tapers all up in a bunch, hear us out.
At one time – a very long time ago – slam had some punch – it had balls – big, bad, titanium-infused kahonas. Those of us who were around in the early days could agree that here was nothing more brutal than some good old NYDM. The resurgence of brutal-as-fuq slams and chugs over the last several years, by bands espousing the virtues of their forefathers, has breathed much needed life into the world of the extreme. That said, things are, once again, becoming a little homogeneous – with ideas and sounds suffering from creative cannibalism.
So, what is one to do when perhaps feeling a little worn out on the slams and chugs? Well, maybe – just maybe – one could give it a rest and spin something that has the balls to try something different – to boldly go where no slam/chug has gone before. Enter EVOLUTION.
Yeah, yeah, we know, it's missing the boobies, butts and entrails that you siq, cheeto-bearded morons pull your tiny, deformed sausages to. Ah, well, Ev0lution is here to prove that brutality can exist outside the confines of clichés.
Evolution is best described as an electronic metal act with a backbone of brutality. Hailing from Vancouver, BC the band consists of a single member, Dallas Turner. This lone creator finds like-minded musicians – within the realms of brutal slamming metal – whom he collaborates with for each track, Using this method, he has been pumping out single after single. After the release of their debut EP, Life, the act went out on tour, for the first time ever, opening up for Modern Day Babylon and The Algorithm.
Their debut full-length, entitled Uprise will be available in the next two months. The album features a star-studded cast, including members of Thy Art is Murder, Oceano, Emmure, Enterprise Earth, Traitors, AngelMaker, Shadow of Intent, and many more.
We are stoked to bring you the exclusive premiere of brand new song 'Fallout", this one featuring members of Thy Art is Murder, Infant Annihilator and Slaughter to Prevail. Check it out, fuckers!
