By all indications, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, the all-star group featuring Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds, Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman, bassist Pete Griffin and possibly actress Juliette Lewis. seem to finally be settling down and recording some material. Last week, we saw photos of the band all in the same place and it seems they are hanging out and even (finally) tracking with producer Steve Evetts. How do we know this? Evetts posted a quick tease of him doing some drum tracking with Ben Weinman and drummer Thomas Pridgen, formerly of The Mars Volta.
Also interesting to note that Juliette Lewis was tagged in the post. She was seen recording vocals, and we've heard conflicting reports about if her tracks would make the final cut or not. I guess we'll know soon enough. Here are some more photos from the studio:
