The on-again, off-again collaboration between Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman and Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds is very much on-again. The duo spent a good chunk of the last few days in the recording studio working on new material.
Through their recent social network activity, we also learned they have a few new members. Bassist Eric Avery seems to no longer be involved with the project, and Dethklok bassist Pete Griffin and drummer Thomas Pridgen. Pridgen was originally involved with the project until being replaced by Jon Theodore. Theodore then moved onto working with Queens of the Stone Age full time bringing Pridgen back into the fold.
Meanwhile, while the band teased working with Juliette Lewis, we've learned that didn't work out either.
Here is a photo of the current lineup jamming:
When we would actually hear new material is anybody's guess. But the band have been working for a few days now, so perhaps some progress is being made?
