Mastodon's Brent Hinds and The Dillinger Escape Plan's Ben Weinman have been teasing their supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra as early as 2011, but I feel like 2015 is the year. Both guitarists' main gigs seem to be on break now and they seem to working on new material. They were in the studio this past summer and are working on new tunes now.
The band, which also features Janes' Addiction bassist Eric Avery and former The Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore may be inching closer to finally releasing some music. Weinman posted the below photo highlighting a possible guest vocalist on the album:
You'll notice the above photo of actress Juliette Lewis features the hashtag #GTO, which Weinman uses to tag photos that have to do with the group. Lewis is no slouch in the vocal department, having fronted her own band Juliette and the Licks as well as releasing solo material the last few years.
Anyway, this is all a roundabout way to say that my body is ready to hear this.
