Black Sabbath played its last-ever show on February 4, 2017 in Birmingham, UK. The show was immortalized as The End live album, and that was that for the most legendary metal band there ever was. Of course, there was speculation that Black Sabbath would eventually reunite for maybe a one-off show here and there or even a festival appearance, because The End was just the final tour for the band… maybe not necessarily the final show.
That speculation seems to have come to a grinding halt with bassist Geezer Butler's statement on Full Metal Jackie's most recent episode, as he points out the likelihood of this happening is pretty much zero
"Not very likely at all. I think Ozzy is going out on his farewell tour, so that will be him touring for the next two or three years. So I don't think there will be any chance of doing any one-offs or anything like that — which I'm fine with. We went out on a high, and it's best not to drag it out."
So I guess that's that. Ozzy will hit the road for the next few years saying goodbye, and then it's all over. At least some of the individual members of Black Sabbath are still interested in making music, right?
