DINO CAZARES On FEAR FACTORY's Transgression: "It Reminded Me Of METALLICA's St. Anger"

He's not a fan.

Fear Factory's 2005 album Transgression was an interesting one. It was the band's second effort without guitarist Dino Cazares and features guest spots from both Faith No More bassist Billy Gould and Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton, the latter of which co-wrote the single "New Promise". Transgression (and the Cazares-less Archetype) remain off streaming services, which probably doesn't bother Cazares given his feelings on the record.

In a response to a fan on Twitter, Cazares made his opinion on Transgression well known by comparing it to the oft-maligned St. Anger.

"I sure one of u is going to cry that I said this but here it goes," said Cazares. "I was never into the album Transgression it reminded me of Metallica's 2003 album St. Anger. The song 'Transgression' reminded me of the song 'Frantic' Riffs ,played high on the fret with the low string."

Possible hot take, but I'd much rather listen to St. Anger than Transgression. The Cazares-less years of Fear Factory just felt lost – at least St. Anger had a fire behind it. As for any reissues of Archetype or Transgression, Cazares noted he doesn't have the rights to 'em.

"I do not own any rights to Archetype or Transgression so that means I can not do anything like add them to Spotify or re-release them," said Cazares. "Please share this so I don't have to keep answering this question"

Coal Chamber, Fear Factory, Twiztid, Wednesday 13 performing Murderdolls material, and Black Satellite will hit the road this summer where Fear Factory will promptly ignore their Transgression material. The full list of tour dates featuring is as follows. Get your tickets here.
