Megadeth fired bassist David Ellefson earlier this year due to an ongoing sexual relationship with a fan that culminated in some less-than-stellar videos being posted online. Ellefson has since admitted to having a relationship with the fan and is currently in the process of filing revenge porn charges, alongside a defamation lawsuit, against the video leaker.
Megadeth has since removed Ellefson from the album and re-recorded all the bass tracks. It's not clear who took Ellefson's spot yet, but maybe it's Steve Di Giorgio? There's one person for certain that it's absolutely not going to be ever again, and that's Ellefson.
Mustaine answered a fan in a recent Cameo, "Any chance on Ellefson coming back later on? The answer to that is no." Whether or not that ends up being true, we'll see – plenty of people have said they're "never going to play" with someone again and then they do.
