5 Horror Movies Made Better with Metal

Metal and horror go together like chocolate and peanut butter.  They both represent the alluring countercultures of their entertainment niches, and, for whatever reason, there are those of us who need to dabble in forbidden delights that some people avoid or never even discover.  When it comes to horror movies, a well-placed metal song may be just what the movie needs to become a memorable and beloved piece of dark art.

 Night of the Demons & Type O Negative

The Night of the Demons remake from 2009 is easy to dismiss as another attempt to cash in on a horror classic.  The filmmakers took a mid-level horror movie from the 1980's and cranked out a quick and easy remake that doesn't surpass the original in any way.  No way, except for one:

A demonic woman seduces a girl at a party and they make out while Type O Negative's “Black No. 1” plays.  One of these girls is Shannon Elizabeth.  You're Welcome.

Type O has some great songs that capture the mysterious and creepy feeling of Halloween, and their music fits perfectly into any horror movie.
