The Saw Series & Charlie Clouser

You may not know who Charlie Clouser is, but you have definitely heard music that he helped create.  Charlie was a member of Nine Inch Nails in the 90's and has also remixed several B-sides on singles for Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, and Rob Zombie.  Working as a behind the scenes guy for the last few decades, he's contributed to albums from A Perfect Circle, Type O Negative, Prong, and Puscifer.

Charlie's work on movie scores may be his most widely recognized music.  In 2004, he composed the ambient industrial score to the first Saw movie.  He is the man behind the iconic theme “Hello Zepp” and its many remixes like the “Shithole Theme” from Saw III.  You may recognize this as the song you heard 1000 times in all seven of the Saw movie trailers.  Charlie’s ethereal and foreboding music helped sculpt the atmosphere and tone for the notoriously bloody series.
