5 Horror Movies Made Better with Metal

Nightmare on Elm Street 3 & Dokken

In the 1980’s, slashers were big, but hair metal was bigger.  Nightmare on Elm Street 3 got one of the most memorable theme songs in horror history because of a magical pairing through brand synergy.  Dokken's “Dream Warriors” might not be the best song in its subgenre, but it will get stuck in your head for a week or two.  The incredibly silly music video has Dokken fighting off Freddy with the power of metal, and it serves as an amazing time capsule that allows us to look at how well the campiness of 80's slasher movies mixed with the tackiness of big hair glam rock.  It’s like peanut butter and chocolate, but with more awesomeness.
