Today is the last day of February concluding another kvlt Black Metal History Month. This year's BMHM was our most packed yet! If you missed any of our grim celebration, be sure to check it out all in one place below as we recap the coldest, darkest, and shortest month of the year.
The Fix, our music video show, went ALL BLACK METAL with videos from Dark Funeral, Watain, Marduk, Dark Fortress and many more. While Dave Hill, The King Of Metal also watched a few Black Metal live videos and had quite a mouthful to say about Wolves In The Throne Room, Dimmu Borgir, Watain, Nachmystium, and Vesania.
We concluded that Immortal really does love winter, speculated on a few alternative career options for Black Metal musicians, and counted down the Top 10 One Man Black Metal Bands.
We celebrated Valentine's Day Black Metal style with grim greeting cards, considered legally changing our first names using the Black Metal Name Generator, and interviewed TRIPTYKON's main man Thomas Gabriel Warrior.
We looked deep into religious beliefs found in the Black Metal genre, as well as the origins of Black Metal in the early 80's, and rounded things out with a look into defining the genre in 2014.
As always we reviewed lots of great black metal albums such as:
- DODSFERD – The Parasitic Survival of the Human Race
- WALDGEFLĂœSTER – Meine Fesseln
- ULVER Nattens – Madrigal
- HORDE – Hellig Usvart
- MAYHEM – Deathcrush
- DEATHSPELL OMEGA – Si Monvmentvm Reqvires, Circvmspice
