If you happen to enjoy bananas, fresh cut flowers, shrimp, Alpaca fur, and Ancient Aliens, well, consider yourself intimately familiar with the first country in the world to officially recognize the rights of nature, Ecuador. You read that right. Ecuador recognizes that nature has constitutional rights and has the right to exist, persist, maintain and regenerate its vital cycles. Quite progressive, and super fuckin dank!
What isn't quite as progressive is the thriving ecosystem of Ecuadorian death metal. Now, being the opposite of 'progressive' (regresssive), when spoken in the context of death metal, is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it's a great thing – if you happen to love your death metal old-school and punishingly brutal. There exist some killer examples of regressive Ecuadorian death metal – brain-bashing bands such as Epidemia, Disphexia, and Gastrorrexis.
Joining this trifixion of brutal deathsters are relative newcomers, Execracion. Hailing from the capital of Quito, the band sprung to life back in '16. Earlier this year, they hit the studio to record their first full-length effort, entitled Dilatación Carnal. Among the album's eight tracks of early-to-mid 90s sounding death metal exists a fitting cover of the mighty Cannibal Corpse and their song "Pulverized" (taken from their last truly great album, 94's The Bleeding).
We are incredibly stoked to bring you an exclusive full-album stream of Dilatación Carnal. While you are at it, head on over to the mighty CDN Records and preorder your copy of the album today!
