In what is an annual tradition, the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards happen the Monday after Download Festival (that would be today, Monday, June 13th). In fact, the award show should be starting minutes after this post goes live. But one award was already given out this weekend, a new award recently created to honor late Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, "The Spirit of Lemmy" award.

The folks at Metal Hammer got Dave Mustaine to make a quick speech moments after Megadeth concluded their Download set and the first recipient of the award is one of Lemmy's close friends, WWE COO Triple H. Video footage from the crowd has surfaced of the brief ceremony:

If you can't watch the video, Triple H said:

"Having Dave give me this award is a dream come true. Standing on the Lemmy Stage, named after one of my great friends and being given the Spirit Of Lemmy Award is amazing.

"I can feel Lemmy here right now, sitting up on that black cloud over there – drinking a Jack and Coke, probably. The true Spirit Of Lemmy is this fucking crowd right here.

"This is the Spirit Of Lemmy, the Spirit Of Lemmy will never die, because of all of you."

It was a very nice moment for the crowd, and here are a few photos Triple H posted to his social media. Triple H made sure to bring out the entire NXT roster to the stage to take some photos in front of the massive crowd…

Triple H also got a few moments to mug for the camera with Ozzy Osbourne…
