As Devil You Know are in the process of writing a new album, they decided to release a new lyric/music video hybrid to keep fans anxious for more. Frontman Howard Jones describes the track thusly:
"The moment I heard the music for 'As Bright As The Darkness', I knew what I was going to write.
"This song is about the times I felt at my lowest.
"I've been fighting depression for years and I wish I had not waited so long to get help.
"Those who know depression, you are not alone. Just reach out."
The video also acts a platform for the YouRock Foundation, aiming to bring awareness for depression in the heavy metal community. Previously, they've released intimate testimonials from Slipknot's Corey Taylor, The Dillinger Escape Plan's Ben Weinman, and Korn's Jonathan Davis.
