Obscura has entered Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Fredrik Nordström (At the Gates, The Crown, etc.) for their new album due out sometime in 2021.
The new album will be the band's first to feature their new/old lineup of guitarist and vocalist Steffen Kummerer, former members now rejoined guitarist Christian Münzner and bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling, and new drummer David Diepold (Cognizance). This lineup change comes after the mass exodus of guitarist Rafael Trujillo, bassist Linus Klausenitzer, and drummer Sebastian Lanser earlier this year.
