It's been almost a year since we've heard that new Slayer song, "Implode" but it looks like we won't have to wait much longer.
The band just announced they'll be releasing their next single, "When The Stillness Comes," as part of Record Store Day on April 18 through their new label, Nuclear Blast.
There will only be 5000 copies printed of limited edition 7" vinyl picture disc, with the b-side being a live recording of "Black Magic" recorded at last year's Wacken Open Air festival. The vinyl will only be available at independent record stores. You can get a directory of those right here.
I'd assume that this would also be the official kick-off to the band's promo cycle for their next album. I'm almost certain they are done recording by now, if anything the album is in it's mixing and mastering phase. So, April is the perfect time to kick off a promotion for a possible summer release. Throw in a big festival tour, and boom, you'll probably be hearing a lot about Slayer this summer.
