Do Not Expect A New SLAYER Album This Year

Damn it, Slayer! You tease and tease and tease a new album this year, but it doesn't look like it's happening. We already knew that promised Slayer EP wasn't happening during the summer, and other than a few shows in November and February, the band does not have much touring planned. Tom Araya was the latest to speak about the new album, while promoting the band's November Indian dates:

“We are working on a new album, aiming for a 2013 release. We are experimenting with a lot of sounds. What we can tell you is that the new album will be very Slayer,”

Are they really experimenting? This completely contradicts what Kerry King said a few months ago, comparing the band to AC/DC

They can expect the same record we've been giving them for the last 20 years. That's basically what it is. It's the AC/DC of thrash metal. You know what you're gonna get. The unpredictableness is the predictable part of it. We keep the train on the tracks, but we experiment with anything we can think of on the way.

To be fair, I guess King also did use the word "experiment" so who knows what we'll hear. I guess we'll have to wait until 2013 to find out.
