Jerry Cantrell Completes Work On First Solo Album In Nearly 20 Years

Watch: ALICE IN CHAINS Pay Tribute to Vinnie Paul with Emotional "Nutshell" Performance

Jerry Cantrell has been plenty busy recently. The legendary Alice In Chains guitarist revealed he's completed a new solo record, his first since 2002.

Cantrell also revealed he's collaborating with former The Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato on the effort, as he posted a photo from the studio featuring himself, Puciato, and engineers Paul Fig and Joe Barresi.

"Finished my record tonight one year to the day from when we started recording it," the guitarist wrote. "What a crazy journey… always is. Look forward to setting it free upon your ear holes sometime soon."

This will be Jerry's first solo record since 2002's Degradation Trip. Prior to that, Cantrell released a solo record titled Boggy Depot in 1998.

Who else will be in Cantrell's band? In 2002, he had then-Infectious Grooves and now-Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo alongside Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin.

Cantrell's most recent solo shows consisted of drummer Gil Sharone (ex-The Dillinger Escape PlanMarilyn Manson), guitarist and composter Tyler Bates (Marilyn Manson), bassist James LoMenzo (ex-Black Label Society, ex-Megadeth). Take a look at Puciato covering "Would?" with Cantrell:

We can't wait to hear it!
