Hopefully out this year.

Alice in Chains guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell released his solo album Degradation Trip in June 2002, then re-released it as an expanded and fully-realized titled Degradation Trip Volumes 1 & 2 in November of that same year. Now 18 years later, Cantrell is teasing studio time for a brand new one.

It'll be interesting to see who Cantrell gets for this album. In 2002, he had then-Infectious Grooves and now-Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo alongside Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin.

Cantrell's most recent solo shows consisted of drummer Gil Sharone (ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan, Marilyn Manson), guitarist and composter Tyler Bates (Marilyn Manson), bassist James LoMenzo (ex-Black Label Society, ex-Megadeth), and an appearance by vocalist Greg Puciato (ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Black Queen).
