This has serious potential.

In 2014, Van Halen vocalist David Lee Roth and Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 wrote and recorded a record together. The record never surfaced, but according to Roth in an interview with Talkin’ Rock With Meltdown, it will soon.

Roth adds that the material found on the record is a combination of stuff he wrote for his solo career and for a Van Halen album that apparently never happened (and now never will).

"There’s been a revision of things, and I can start making real plans and start marching into the future. And of course you’ll start hearing that material. This is material that we wrote variously for me solo and for Van Halen, and it’s quite a bank of stuff."

Roth didn't say when the record would be due out. Considering he's got a Las Vegas residency coming up soon, I'd imagine there are more pressing matters to attend to, such as rehearsal and making that show completely awesome. All we know about the record is that it's possibly called California Sessions and that John 5 played a clip of it at 22:50 on the below Masters Of Shred show.
