Slipknot doesn't seem to be in a massive hurry to put out a new album, but the band is definitely working on one. In recent interviews, Shawn "Clown" Crahan said the band is writing some new stuff while Corey Taylor begins the Stone Sour promotional tour cycle, and guitarist Mick Thomson echoed those sentiments, adding he doesn't expect anything to be done and ready for release for a while.
Now in an interview with Corey Taylor, he pretty much says the same thing as Thomson – there's new music in the works, though the process is slow and he doesn't expect to really crack down on it this year or next year.
"We're not really doing anything right now. I know we're kind of slowly starting to write some music. Other than that, we're just kind of taking some time off. Clown's gonna direct some movies, Sid's gonna do some stuff… We're all kind of doing our own thing… But that's it. I mean, really. Next year is everybody kind of doing their own thing, and then probably after that, we will slowly but surely start to get together to do some Slipknot stuff."
Well, it's something to look forward to, right?
