Stone Sour is slowly gearing up to release its new album Hydrograd, meaning Slipknot will essentially remain inactive touring-wise until Corey Taylor is back in the picture. While it's only one man's opinion and general outlook on the future of the band, guitarist Mick Thomson says in an interview with Backstage Axxess Slipknot will be working on new material in the absence of Taylor.
"We just finished… We spent a long time… well, a couple of years touring, but then there was a whole year before that of writing and recording and all that shit. So we have a little break right now. I think Corey's out doing his own stuff. Or if he isn't, he's about to be. So we're gonna work on writing some shit, and we'll be probably back out on the road after we do another record."
So I guess expect to see Slipknot on the road maybe 2018 or 2019?
