BLACK SABBATH's Tony Iommi & QUEEN's Brian May Want You To Create An Album With Their Guitar Riffs

This is sort of unreal. Legendary guitarists Tony Iommi (he of Black Sabbath) and Brian May (he of Queen) have been quietly collaborating on a new project, with a unique twist. It's not exactly a new full-length album, but a gathering of riffs, that will be delivered to you to do with whatever you chose.

In the May issue of Kerrang! magazine, May was answering fan questions when one was submitted by Tony Iommi asking:

When are we going to get to work on that album of riffs together? You know what I'm talking about.

May responded:

"Yes, I do know what he's talking about, and I'm very, very keen. The record he's talking about what supposed to be a secret, but I guess he's blown it now."

May is astounded by the amount of riffs Iommi, aka the Godfather of heavy metal, has in his arsenal. May wants to release a compilation of the riffs and let musicians compile their own songs out of them.

"The idea was to put all these riffs out in some form so that people could build their own songs from them. You could make your own music with Tony Iommi on guitar!"

Can you imagine having Tony Iommi playing lead guitar in your laptop band? This is quite a killer idea. No word on a possible release date, but I'm assuming it will take a while as Tony Iommi is a bit busy with that other project of his.
