Saliva was set to reunite with vocalist Josey Scott in 2019 for a brand new album and a tour. The wheels were in motion for the reunion right up until everything fell apart due to the pandemic. Guitarist Wayne Swinny also noted that things were never really getting off the ground to begin with anyway, saying "there was some fan response [to the reunion], saying, 'Wow, yeah, that might be cool.' But it didn't get enough steam to take off."
Now in 2022, things are finally moving. Saliva is set to play the Blue Ridge Rock Festival with Scott on vocals this September. Which I guess isn't shocking given Blue Ridge Rock Festival has been shaping up to be pretty insane featuring major reunions like the ongoing Shadows Fall reunion, Kittie's second reunion show, and the long-awaited God Forbid reunion. Plus Sion, the band featuring vocalist Howard Jones (Light The Torch, ex-Killswitch Engage) and YouTuber Jared Dines, will be making their debut live performance at the festival too.
The Blue Ridge Rock Festival taking place at the Virginia International Raceway in Alton, VA between September 8 and 11, and will feature the following additions.
