Tattoo The Earth is back this year and will take place at The Palladium Outdoors in Worcester, MA on August 27. The lineup for the show so far features Anthrax, Black Label Society, Hatebreed, At The Gates, Municipal Waste, and Enforced, with many more to be announced.

Tattoo The Earth was a tour originally headlined by Slayer and Slipknot in 2000, but was subsequently "banned from Boston for life" due to neighborhood complaints of foul language. Tattoo The Earth only ran between 2000 and 2002

"When I wrote Caravan of Pain: The True Story of the Tattoo The Earth Tour, I never imagined it would bring the show back to life," says Tattoo The Earth founder Scott Alderman. "Doing the show with the original promoter, Mass Concerts, and having Hatebreed on the bill, who were one of the 2000 tour breakout bands, is going to make for an amazing event."

"In 2001, I met Scott Alderman through my production manager and this led to us promoting the Massachusetts date on the tour," added John Peters of MassConcerts. "A chance find in my spam folder two months ago, of an email promoting Scott's new book Caravan of Pain: The True Story of the Tattoo the Earth Tour, led to us re-connecting and deciding to present a one-off festival in Worcester."

Tickets will go on sale on April 27 here. You can also check out Caravan of Pain: The True Story of the Tattoo the Earth Tour here. The following is a synopsis of the book provided by Alderman on his website.

"Brace yourself for a roller coaster thrill ride as you join the Tattoo the Earth 2000 summer tour of America, the most insane tour ever inflicted on a continent. Featuring twenty of metal's biggest bands, including Metallica, Slipknot, and Slayer, plus Filip Leu, Sean Vasquez, and the world's best tattoo artists, these renegade outsiders pissed off all the wrong music business heavyweights but left delirious inked fans in their wake"
