When Megadeth frontman and guitarist Dave Mustaine isn't announcing announcements, he's at home playing guitar:
The guitar’s helped me say things I can’t say with my mouth. I say it with my hands. When you play a piece of music and someone else can go, ‘I feel what you feel,’ you’ve made a really good bond with somebody.
Sometimes he noodles around, sometimes he writes songs and sometimes he plays Metallica riffs. Wait, seriously? In a recent interview with Pensado's Place (below), Mustaine is asked what he plays for fun when he's at home, where he responds:
“Play for fun? Metallica songs!”
Sure, maybe he's joking and it's just a tongue-in-cheek whatever, but in recent years Mustaine hasn't really had anything bad about the group to say. I mean really, it's been nearly thirty years since he was in the group and got ousted. Should anyone really hold a grudge that long? That being said, I love the mental image of Mustaine running around his house playing Metallica songs, maybe even lip-synching James Hetfield's vocal parts and pretending like he's still in the band.
