Earlier this week, while Nine Inch Nails was performing in Irving, TX, Trent Reznor took a moment to survey the crowd for Ted Cruz voters. Cruz is the elected Senator from the state.
Reznor went on to throw some shade at Cruz, saying "He might be here tonight, he was bugging to get on the guest list, and I told him to fuck off. We put him on a few years ago, he drank all the beer, and was just a pain in the ass to be around."
The story got passed around the internet, and naturally got back to Cruz. I wouldn't be surprised if Ted does a vanity search once in a while. Nevertheless, Cruz responded denying the story's truth, and assuming Reznor was joking because Cruz wouldn't dare listen to Nine Inch Nails:

Sure, Ted. Next thing you'll tell us, you're not the Zodiac killer either.
