It's been a few months since Tony Iommi announced that he was diagnosed with lymphoma, a form of cancer. While we've heard some comments from Ozzy since the diagnosis, Tony has been rather quiet… until this morning. On his official website, Tony released the following message:
Hiya,
A little update on how it’s all going:
Well, I’ve had the last dose of chemotherapy so hopefully my body will start to get back to normal soon, the steroids were the worse. I’ve now got three weeks of radiotherapy coming up which I’m told can be very tiring so we’ll see.
A big thanks to Ozzy and Geezer for coming over to England, it was a big incentive for me, we managed to work most days and have some great new tracks.
And, importantly thanks again for your kind messages, hope to be seeing you soon.
– Tony
Great to hear that treatment is going as planned and that Tony is in good spirits. He seems motivated by the tracking of new music, so that's great. Obviously, we here at Metal Injection send our best wishes to Iommi and his family and hope for a speedy recovery. The Godfather of Metal must live on!
