Discogs released a new list of the most expensive vinyl sold on their site for the month of August, and as always, Metallica moves big bucks.

The list, without fail, always includes bands like Mayhem and Nirvana, though the August 2020 list had a new and interesting item top the charts. Someone had a hole burning in their wallet because a 1984 test press of Metallica's Ride the Lightning sold for a cool $5,000.

For the record, Mayhem was #20 with a $2,371 copy of Deathcrush and Nirvana was #6 with a $3,499 copy of Love Buzz b/w Big Cheese. Check out the full list here.

Though don't freak out! If you're still dying to buy your own test pressing of the thrash icons' sophomore album, there's another copy for sale for $7,000 that's shipping from Russia.

Speaking of Ride the Lightning, we posted a great editorial earlier this week about the insane robbery in Boston that inspired "Fade to Black." Definitely peep the comments of that post.
