Sinsaenum is finishing up their first new record since 2018's Repulsion For Humanity, and first since the death of drummer Joey Jordison in 2021. According to Sinsaenum mastermind Frédéric Leclercq, the album is nearly done being recorded and will be mixed and mastered by Lasse Lammert (Abigail Williams, Saor, Sigh, etc.).
"We are finalising the recordings of our third album," said Leclercq. "It will be mixed and mastered by Lasse Lammert. We will keep you posted with further updates in time. We've also noticed a huge increase in listeners these last weeks: thank you so much for your continued support!"
So who's the new drummer? We have no idea. All we know is that according to vocalist Sean Zatorsky, they had one as of last May and that it's not Austin D'Amond of Chimaira. At least that was the joke that Zatorsky told at the time.
"We do have a drummer. I can't really say who — I'm not really allowed, unfortunately — but it is someone that we know… The guy we got's great… He knows the band and [he's] a friend, and it'll just be a perfect combination, from what it sounds like," said Zatorsky in an interview. "He's known Fred for a long time, but I know him too. We became friends through mutual people. [He's] not [in] a super-famous band, but he does in some [other] bands [as well].
"It's more about just finding someone who will vibe. You're never gonna replace Joey, so looking for the next superstar isn't necessarily the answer, I think, sometimes. But this guy, he definitely can do the job. I think it'll be really cool."
Sinsaenum's last known lineup was guitarists Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast) and Frédéric Leclercq (Amahiru, Kreator), bassist Heimoth (Seth), and vocalists Attila Csihar (Mayhem) and Sean Zatorsky (Dååth, ex-Chimaira).
