PSYCHOSEXUAL Changes Name To PSYCHO SYNNER, Is Working On Nine Albums

What the hell is Jeremy Spencer doing?

Watch Ex-FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Perform Masked With New Band PSYCHOSEXUAL

Ex-Five Finger Death Punch drummer Jeremy Spencer's band Psychosexual has relaunched under the name Psycho Synner. This is the second time the band has relaunched in under a year, with the first time being in March when all the band's music was deleted from streaming services. Spencer said at the time he wanted to start the band over because he felt the new material was much stronger than the previous, now-deleted stuff.

“When you make records, they’re like snapshots in time. We made the first thing pretty fast, and I just threw it out independently. And we had started the next record right away, and ‘Devil From Hell‘ happened. And I’m, like, ‘Fuck, man. I really like this. I wish this would have been the first thing that we dropped.’

"So it’s, like, you know what? Nobody even really knows much about the other music, which I do like, but I think this is more appropriate of where we kind of wanna debut; this is what I wanted to be the first thing. So it’s kind of like a reboot — we’re starting over. I’ll release the other music down the road again, but this second record will technically be our first. [Laughs]”

For this new switch to being Psycho Synner, Spencer said he wanted the band's name to reflect their sound and didn't feel Psychosexual was appropriate. Spencer also changed his stage name from Devil Daddy to Grym Synner, and rebranded the band's music on all streaming services.

“I chose [Psychosexual] because the song’s lyrics were primarily sex-oriented. So, when I formed a new rock band, I kept that name. However, once the new music became guitar-centric, it took on a more sinister style–less about sex and partying.

"Psycho Synner is a perfect fit for the band’s heavier musical profile and, as a result, I’ve chosen the character name, Grym Synner. The upcoming simultaneous release of nine albums is not only revolutionary in itself, but each one perfectly encapsulates the band’s changing musical landscape. Something for everyone! And, I mean that in the best sense. Hardcore rockers and heavy metal fans will find exactly what they like and who we’ve come to be.”

I guess we'll see what happens when the nine albums start coming out, in terms of name changes again. In the meantime, Psycho Synner has released a new song called "On Your Grave".
