Study Says Going To Shows Can Increase Your Lifespan By Nine Years

Consider me immortal

Consider me immortal

Look. I totally get why you wouldn't go to shows as you get older. Beer is expensive, people are people, and things can get pretty hectic pretty quickly. However, a new study done by behavioral science expert Patrick Fagan says you might want to get off your ass and just go.

Fagan says hitting up shows could increase your lifespan by up to nine years, reason being that there's a "positive correlation between regularity of gig attendance and well-being" and that additional research "directly links high levels of wellbeing with a lifespan increase of nine years." Metrics from the study show that approximately 20 minutes at a gig can improve feelings of well-being by up to 21%. So there you go. Death metal can prevent death. Sorta.

Just get out there support music and make sure to wear earplugs.
