Faith No More's Sol Invictus was the first album from the band in nearly 20 years and it's absolutely great. So it was a little bit of a bummer to hear that the band has absolutely no plans after this summer, because it puts the future of Faith No More into question once more. Now, in an article by The Wall Street Journal, the band opens up that none of the members are really opposed to continuing on.
That doesn’t mean Faith No More won’t follow up “Sol Invictus” with a new album or even more tours down the line. Patton said it is possible because a lot of material didn’t make the most recent record, and Gould said he hopes Faith No More’s newfound productivity will continue. Before that, though, Gould said the band will “do what’s best for everybody” and decide what’s next in October, when they are set to play the Monster Energy Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, Calif.
So there's already new Faith No More material sitting around waiting to be reworked and the live shows have made them enjoy the band once more. Maybe we'll see a new album in 2017? Hell, I'll settle for a short EP of the b-sides next year just to have that little extra fix in between.
