Symphonic metal mainstays Epica will perform with Metallica in Paris, France on Wednesday, May 17 and Sunday, May 28 in Hamburg, Germany, replacing previously-scheduled opener Five Finger Death Punch.
On Monday morning, Metallica tweeted out the announcement:
"Fresh off their successful Epic Apocalypse tour, @Epica will be stepping in for @FFDP on the #M72 World Tour on Wednesday in Paris and Sunday, May 28, in Hamburg. We're excited that they can join the ride."
Epica singer Simone Simmons put out a statement expressing their excitement to play with Metallica, because who doesn't want to play with Metallica?
"We are beyond excited to share the stage with the legendary Metallica that has had a great influence on the whole music scene, including Epica."
These are not the first two shows that Five Finger Death Punch has had to cancel on the Metallica tour. The popular group were scheduled to perform on April 29 in Amsterdam but were replaced by Nightwish singer Floor Jansen. Five Finger Death Punch later cited that singer Ivan Moody was recovering from acute hernia surgery but that the band would not miss any more dates, which has obviously changed. We wish Moody all the best as he recovers.
