OFF! have released a new single "Keep Your Mouth Shut" and announced a Record Store Day 2023 exclusive EP, FLSD EP. The new EP will feature 8 previously unreleased tracks and will be available April 22 via Fat Possum Records. A video for the track can be seen below.
The track remains in line with the narrative OFF! first introduced on their Free LSD LP last year, and the video includes more footage from the film of the same name which made its debut at the Slamdance Film Festival this winter. The movie prominently features the late D.H. Peligro, the Dead Kennedys drummer who died last year after suffering from a fall.
As for the track itself, OFF! guitarist Dimitri Coats said, "We recorded 'Keep Your Mouth Shut' for Free LSD but ended up saving it for the movie. We needed a powerful non-album track in the film to establish the band before their attempt to save human consciousness from the clutches of an evil alien species."
There's no word of when the Free LSD film will see a wider release, or be available to stream on any of the major platforms, as of yet, so that is certainly something to look out for in the future.
