August Burns Red recently revealed they're releasing an entirely re-recorded version of their 2011 album Leveler on May 21. The new version was produced and mixed by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland (ERRA, Rivers Of Nihil), and features guest appearances from Matt Heafy (Trivium), Misha Mansoor (Periphery), and Ryan Kirby (Fit For A King). You can check out the new version of "Pangaea" featuring Mansoor below.
"'Pangaea' has always been one of my favorite tracks on Leveler," said guitarist JB Brubaker. "It may be the most progressive song on the album so it felt like a natural fit to have Misha from Periphery perform on the track. He delivered quite possibly the most head-spinning guitar solo that we’ve ever had on an ABR song. We're very excited to share this new version of 'Pangaea' with everyone, and think fans are going to appreciate the song on a whole new level."
August Burns Red will also play Leveler in full via livestream on May 22. Pre-orders, as well as tickets for the Leveler livestream, are available here.
