DEZ FAFARA To Release First Autobiography

The life, the legend, the pages!

Dez Fafara

Dez Fafara the lead vocalist for DevilDriver and Coal Chamber announced that he will be releasing his first autobiography titled Loco: Chaos, Calamity, And Coal Chamber, the first of a two book series on September 5 via Rare Bird Books. The California native began his career in the 90's in Los Angeles with his band Coal Chamber which rose to fame right out of the gate making them one of the most influential bands of the nu-metal era. Since then the singer has maintained a life spanning successful career with his solo project DevilDriver, his artist management imprint Oracle Management, and his clothing brand Sun Cult.

The book Loco titled after Coal Chamber's debut hit single is the first book of a two book series which goes through the history of Fafara living his life growing up in California as Bradley James Fafara, being ripped off as an artist in the entertainment business, being let down by the people around him, finding the inner strength for him to carry on in this constantly changing business, and also finding success through self made opportunities. This 288 page read has more than 50 black-and-white and full-color images, and for sure will be a tell all behind the scenes through the eyes of this talented frontman. The second book will take a dive into the wild stories of his still ongoing career with DevilDriver.

Loco: Chaos, Calamity, and Coal Chamber was written with Joel McIver, the bestselling author of Justice for All: The Truth About Metallica. He wrote the official biography of the world's biggest death metal band Cannibal Corpse, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Queens Of The Stone Age, and co-wrote David Ellefson's memoir the ex-bass player of Megadeth. Mclver has written 35 books, and has also contributed his writings to The Guardian, Daily Telegraph, and Classic Rock.

2023 is looking like a busy year for Fafara as he's not only releasing books about his life and career, but he has also just released a new album with DevilDriver titled Dealing With Demons Vol. II. Between his business dealings with his multiple companies, and helping other bands find success in their careers, Fafara has also reunited his band Coal Chamber which is hitting the road this summer on the The Psychotherapy Sessions Tour supporting Mudvayne that will also feature Gwar, NonPoint, and The Butcher Babies.

Fafara has a lot to be thankful for. Over a year ago the singer had to take time off after he suffered from complications due to Covid-19 that almost took his life. After a slow and long recovery process the frontman's strong will, determination, and desire to succeed has once again proven him to be a true inspiration. He's sober, vegan, and an influence to others as he promotes the power of positivity through his social media pages, and on the stage.

This book series by far should be an interesting read to see what this artist has gone through from where he started, how he's become who he is, and what the measure of an individual is by not lay down in times of tragedy…. but to rise to the occasion, and to continue to find success!
