Heavy MTL is the biggest metal festival to hit Canada. While in previous years, it was accompanied by a Toronto version of the festival, this year, it's all Heavy MTL… happening August 10 and 11 at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Canada.
The lineup is usually a good indication of which bands will be on tour this summer, as it's very rare for a band to just book this festival. So let's take a look at who's touring this summer, via the fest's just announced lineup:

Obviously a good portion of these bands are on the already announced Mayhem Festival and Summer Slaughter tour but then there are some strays.
Is At The Gates only playing Heavy MTL or will they play a few shows to warm up beforehand? Avenged Sevenfold haven't announced a tour yet, but they should be putting out an album this year, so that shouldn't be a surprise. Wintersun will definitely be touring, they can't afford to fly over just to play this one festival, can they?
