Things are not going so well for Black Sabbath right now. Last week, Bill Ward announced he was sitting out the reunion because he doesn't feel he is getting his fair share of the profits, so much so that he'd rather not do it. In response, Sabbath has decided to move on without him. A site called MetalTalk.net claims that they heard from a source that Sharon actually fired Ward after his public comments and plans to replace him with Ozzy Osborune's current solo band drummer Tommy Clufetos. That's lame! We must not that this is completely speculation and we have not been able to back MetalTalk's claims.
With that said, fans are pissed.
My Facebook feed has blown up in the last few days with people posting images like the one above, and comments about how this is complete bullshit. I tend to agree. One fan has even went as far as creating a Facebook fan page: 1,000,000 Black Sabbath fans say yes to Bill Ward.
This is certainly not the type of publicity the band wants heading into their reunion tour. This is something that needs to be made right. Unfortunately, I think it might fall on deaf ears. This is ultimately about one thing: money. I'm sure there was internal debate about this decision and ultimately the Sabbath camp decided they could move on without Ward without too much financial loss, so I don't really see them reneging. But that sucks! It's not going to be the same without Ward.
